Hello
My name is Madalyn Paquette. I hold a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Central Florida and a graduate degree in Sustainability Management from the University of Wisconsin. I currently serve as the Sustainability and Energy Specialist for the Bend-La Pine School District in Central Oregon.
My Story
After 21 years in Florida—hiking through swamps, paddling mangroves, and restoring oyster reefs—I fell in love with nature and saw firsthand the impact of environmental degradation. This led me to earn a degree in Environmental Studies at UCF. Over time, I realized the environment is deeply tied to social and economic justice, which inspired my move to the Pacific Northwest. Since 2022, I’ve worked in both formal and outdoor education, fostering care for people and the planet. This certification combines my passions for sustainability and education.
